Letter From Heather Hulen - Past Indianola School Board Member

Dear Editor,

I am writing in support of Ken Bresnan for Indianola Mayor. I met Ken Bresnan as a fellow Indianola School Board member during my first term serving on the school board. He cares deeply about the education of Indianola’s children. He knows how important it is to invest time and energy in the next generation of leaders. Ken has exhibited dedication to the community being an avid supporter at both school and city functions and thru volunteer work for many years.
 
Through the years we served on the Indianola School Board, I was impressed with his spirit and his energy in volunteering for the children in our community. He has a thoughtful and engaging personality that allows him to be very approachable. He is dedicated, forthright and enjoyable to work with, all attributes that I appreciate when working with others.

As a school board member, Ken did his homework, studied the issues, and made reasoned and deliberate decisions – based on logic rather than emotion. As a past Indianola School Board member, Ken has shown that he will bring the same kind of advocacy for our city. He doesn’t hesitate to ask the tough questions that need to be asked and is ready to offer a suggestion and a hand to help out. When he says he wants to make a difference, he means it. Ken has great talents which will be of great use to the city.

Ken Bresnan has incredible experience from his years on the Indianola School Board. He understands the critical issues facing our city and comes prepared –essential attributes for a city mayor. Ken will do what is best for Indianola. He truly cares about Indianola! He wants to make this community the best it can be for everyone who lives in this great city. He is committed to the city and will lead our city in the future. For all these reasons, I am supporting Ken Bresnan on November 3rd.

Letter To The Editor:

Dear Readers,

I have known Ken Bresnan and his family for almost 20 years and cannot think of a better candidate for mayor of Indianola. Ken has been an active member of our community, serving three terms on the School Board of the Indianola Community Schools. Ken is not only an easy person to talk to, but believes in getting things done. I worked with Ken as the co-chair of the Indianola RAGBRAI Hospitality committee and his organizational skills and creative ideas helped to make our RAGBRAI event a great success. He believes in getting people involved and using their areas of expertise to help find solutions to problems.

If you know Ken Bresnan, then you know that Ken is an individual who is never out for himself, but a true community minded spirit. He has a vision for our community based upon openness and a willingness to listen and believes we should have a city culture of acceptance, respect and involvement. He has a vision for vibrant and varied economic development and truly understands the importance of our town square. He also believes that it is the citizens of our community who should to decide where our tax money should go.
